Jennifer Lavoie, Playboy’s Miss August 1993, was the first Playmate from New Hampshire. Jennifer was nicknamed “funny face” as a child because she was always making strange faces, but she shows off her beautiful smile in her Playboy pictorial.
Growing up Jennifer loved playing outdoors and doing gymnastics. After graduating from high school she worked in a clothing store, and when that didn’t quite pay the bills she entered a swimsuit contest at a local nightclub and won.
One day at work she got a phone call from a New York City photographer who wanted to shoot photos of her. When he mentioned the word “nudes” she declined his offer until she talked to her mother. Mom not only approved of the idea, she accompanied Jennifer on the trip to New York. The photographer suggested that Jennifer send the photos to Playboy, and three months later Playboy called to invite her to do a test shoot in Chicago. After being named Miss August 1993 Jennifer did promotional work for Playboy and went on to join the Playboy X-Treme Team. This group of athletic Playmates competed in adventure races including the 2000 Eco Challenge in Borneo.
Many Playmates go on to pursue acting careers, but Jennifer had no interest in moving to Hollywood. She’s an East Coast girl, through and through, and she’d rather work as an entrepreneur. Jennifer started a fabric plant hanger company with her friend Sharon Clair.
What gets this busy woman excited? Jennifer revealed in her Playboy interview that she’s turned on by “the smell of shaving cream, a warm fire, massages, and a man you can kiss for hours.” Her turnoffs include “insecurity, and men who think money can buy anything. They can’t buy me!”
