Playmate Jessica Ashley showed the world what she was about in her June 2014 Playmate of the Month pictorial. Jessica graduated from a Big Ten school, the University of Michigan, in 2011 with a bachelor’s degree in English and psychology. When she isn’t writing, reading or working as an activist, she’s modeling and enjoying her June 2014 Playmate title.
Before Playboy she was featured on Maxim’s Hometown Hotties, where she made her way to the top and became a semifinalist. Ashley was also a sexy country music video girl in Kevin Fowler’s hit song “Love Song.” This June Playmate is the perfect example of beauty and brains.
Raised in the suburbs of Detroit, Ashley started writing prose when she was only 4 and always seems to be at work on a book. Some of the English grad’s favorite authors include Herman Hesse and Henry Miller. Miller did the famous Playboy interview in 1964.“Miller is so sexy,” Ashley told Playboy. ”Some of his books were considered dirty in the thirties, just like Playboy was in the fifties. So in that spirit, I think being Miss June is pretty sexy, too.”
Ashley’s nose was always in a good book even though she was told she should become a model. After she graduated college she decided to listen to her family and friends and give modeling a shot. She did catalog and swimsuit work for three years before her Playboy debut.
Playboy TV’s Scott Cope happened to discover the brunette beauty’s photos on her Facebook page, and he told Ashley that she should do a test shoot for Playboy. She flew to LA and a week later she was still there shooting her centerfold with photographer Sasha Eisenman. “I thought it would be so wonderful to be a Playmate,” she told Playboy. “Playboy editorials are so unique. There’s always a beautiful woman, but they tell a different story every time.” True to her studies, Ashley is always thinking about a good story.
