Sexy model and actress Joanna Krupa was born in Warsaw, Poland on April 23, 1979, and was raised in Chicago. At 20 she moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in acting and modeling. She quickly found success in both. In 2002 she scored a recurring role on The Man Show and then a part in the movie Max Havoc: Curse of the Dragon.
At the same time, Joanna’s modeling career took off. Her impressive figure first landed her on the cover of Playboy in 2005. More magazine covers followed, including FHM, Cosmo, Shape, and Maxim. Joanna has appeared on Maxim’s Hot 100 list, and the magazine also named her the Sexiest Swimsuit Model in the World. She again appeared on the cover of Playboy in 2009, and has also done modeling for Frederick’s of Hollywood.
Also in 2009, Joanna competed on the TV show Superstars, which paired celebrities and athletes as teams in obstacle courses and other competitions, and then on Dancing with the Stars, partnered with champion Derek Hough. In 2010 she joined Poland’s Next Top Model as a judge, and in 2012 she joined Bravo’s The Real Housewives of Miami, along with her sister Marta. The show earned Joanna much attention.
Along the way she has continued to act, doing guest spots on TV series such as Las Vegas, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, and Wedding Band, and appearing on the big screen in films including Ripple Effect and Six Days in Paradise.
In addition to her modeling and acting, Joanna is an advocate for PETA. She has appeared (often nude) in several PETA ad campaigns, including the controversial “be an angel for animals” ad in which she posed naked with a large cross. She also started her own rescue outfit called Angels for Animal Rescue. Joanna has also launched her own skincare, jewelry, and swimwear lines.
She married Romain Zago, owner of Miami hot spot Mynt nightclub, in 2013.
