About Karin Taylor

One of Playboy’s most exotic Playmates is Miss June 1996 Karin Taylor. This busty brunette was born in Kingston, Jamaica, and her family moved to Orlando when she was young.

Karin worked at Disney World in high school. Her father was a Disney executive, but she didn’t ask for his help to get the job. She told her parents she was going to the mall but instead went to the amusement park’s employment office. Disney hired her as a dancer at Cinderella’s Ball. She also worked as a lifeguard at an Orlando water park during high school.

At 19 Karin signed with the hottest modeling agency in Miami. Without any training she began appearing in ads for lingerie and swimwear. She started working around the world soon after. She spent six weeks in the Greek islands and two months on assignment in South Africa. Her boss encouraged her to enter the publishing world. In 1994 she produced the “Fashion Industry Travel Guide,” a directory of advice for fellow models.

After she had done a number of different modeling jobs, Hugh Hefner asked Karin to be a Playmate of the Month. She posed for several special editions of the magazine and appeared in videos as well. This led to guest roles on several television shows including Malcolm & Eddie and Baywatch. Howard Stern interviewed her on his show, where she revealed she dated comedian Bill Maher for three months after becoming a Playmate.

In 2001 Karin opened her own lifestyle company called Style House. The business offered “custom invitations, home goods, and furniture as well as event planning, decorating, and professional organizing services.” Around this time she retired from modeling, although she did appear in Betsey Johnson’s Spring 2001 fashion show.

Karin married businessman Bill Weisberg in 2001. The couple has five children: twin sons and three daughters. She runs her own blog to document her experiences as a mother. In her entries she talks about her successes and challenges homeschooling her children and proudly calls herself a “trophy mom.” She also maintains the family’s beautiful house, which has been featured on various websites for its incredible interior design.

In 2012 Karin helped co-found the Weisberg Family Foundation. The organization’s mission is to “serve the disadvantaged through the combined use of volunteerism and financial support.”
