About Kayla Collins

Kayla Collins is Playboy’s Miss August 2008. “I grew up in Reading, rural Pennsylvania,” she said. “I was a cheerleader. I made good grades and took dance classes after school.” After graduation, Kayla studied business marketing at Penn State.

When she was 18 she added Holly Madison as a friend on MySpace, and Holly sent her a message. “She thought I was Playmate material. I ended up on an episode of The Girls Next Door, and then I was asked to do a test shoot.” Hugh Hefner came by the studio during the shoot, and when Kayla introduced herself, she embraced him in the nude.

“I guess I made a good impression,” she said, laughing. “I moved to California as soon as I signed my Playmate contract, and I’ve never looked back. I wouldn’t trade being a Playmate for anything.”

These days Kayla Collins is a successful model. She’s done promotional work for Jack Daniels, Mini Cooper, Comedy Central, and Spike TV. She is a successful actress, too. She appeared in three seasons of The Girls Next Door and was the only American cast member on the British version of I’m a Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here!. On the show, she modeled her own line of swimwear, Sweet, which she created with Avante Swim. Kayla proved to the competition that she had what it takes to battle bugs, Brits, and bad weather. Out of 13 cast members, she was the eighth to be cut.

“I would never have thought I could do the things I did, but I just went into survival mode and forgot my fears,” Kayla told Playboy. Naturally, she appreciated returning to civilization. “It felt amazing to shower naked again,” she said. “I was in there for over an hour.”

In addition to her reality TV work, Kayla has had major roles in the films School Dance, The Casting Couch, and Entourage: The Movie. What kind of guy would Kayla cast as her real-world love interest? “A great personality is most important, along with confidence and independence. A nice smile, eyes, and body are pluses!”
