Kimberley Conrad, Playboy’s Miss January 1988, went on to become not only Playmate of the Year 1989, but Mrs. Hugh Hefner. Born in Moulton, Alabama, she was raised in Nevada and British Columbia. Kimberley began modeling in Vancouver, Canada when she was 17, and a local photographer talked her into posing for Playboy.
In addition to her Playboy pictorial, Kimberley starred in many Playboy video documentaries and made appearances on the TV shows Falcon Crest and Highway to Heaven.
In July 1989 she married Hugh Hefner, becoming his second wife. Kimberley was the mother of two of Hef’s four children, Marston Glenn Hefner and Cooper Bradford Hefner. The Hefners separated after nine years, and Kimberley moved into a house next door to the Playboy Mansion. The couple divorced in September 2009.
Kimberley revealed her turn-ons to Playboy: “Levi’s 501 Jeans, sexy lingerie, midnight walks on the beach, and G strings.” She’s turned off by “gossip, pretentious people, and early-morning phone calls.” She also described a dream date: “I’m in a casino in Monte Carlo and receive a formal invitation to dine on a private yacht; when I arrive, I find I’m the only guest on board. My host pours champagne, our eyes meet, we set sail, and then, who knows?”
