This Brooklyn four-piece cites both Steely Dan and Megadeth among its influences. That should tell you something. The group's sound is, perhaps not surprisingly, a lot less lit-crit geek-pop or jittery post-punk and a lot more glammed-up and straight-ahead. But they definitely come from an indie perspective, and their songs show a real devotion to that tradition, as well, despite their big, crafted sound, their disregard for the flavor of the month and their bonhomie.

Did you have a "Eureka!" moment when you knew you just had to be in a band or you just had to play a certain instrument?

When I heard "Fair Warning" from Van Halen, I knew I wanted to be in a band.

Who put on the best live show you ever saw, and why was it so good?

Jeff Buckley, New Years Eve at Mercury Lounge in NYC. He played the song "New Years Prayer."

What's the worst thing that's happened to you on tour?

Watching my friend get stabbed in his eyeball socket in Augusta, Georgia. I heard a grown man scream -- it sounded like an elk or something.

What's your favorite snack on the road?

Pickles and nuts.

Favorite driving album?

Johnny Cash's Love, God, Murder compilation, the Beach Boys' Pet Sounds and Two Worlds by Denada, a great band from Tulsa, Oklahoma.

What's the most exciting thing you've done in the past year as a result of your music career?

Working with Playboy!

What's your favorite place on earth?

Hippy Hollow in Austin, Texas.

What are the best songs you've heard lately?

"Jigsaw" by Radiohead and "Have Mercy" by RJD2.

Do you think the album format is dead? If yes, has this changed the way you write or conceive of music?

Yes, the album format, from a purist perspective, is dead in a lot of ways. With a linear format like tape you had to listen to an artist’s "B" material to get to what you liked.

Finally, how did you approach your Rock The Rabbit t-Shirt design? How does it reflect your band's aesthetic?

We wanted to keep the same aesthetic we used in designing our logo: cool, bold and with a nod toward retro-rock designs. We approached the same artist, Neil Stuber, who did our original band logo.
