Frequently Asked Questions

How do I go to the website from the address in the text message?

  1. Go to your phone's message inbox.
  2. Open the text message that was sent to your phone.
  3. Select the "Go to URL" or "Use link" option using the "Menu" or "Options" button on your phone.
  4. Select the URL your phone keypad and press OK or GO. In most cases the phone will automatically use the embedded link that is inside the text message. You should see the Mobile home page.
  5. Include the URL in your mobile bookmarks using the "Options" or "Menu" button.

Do I need to have my phone turned on to receive the text message?

No. You will receive recent text messages when you turn your device back on; however, text messages only remain on the carrier servers for a set amount of time, typically up to three days. Text messages are resent to the device during this time. After the time expires for the text message, the server will stop resending it, and you will not receive the message.

Why do I need to have text-messaging and Internet enabled on my phone?

You will receive your link through a text message. Please make sure this is enabled in your mobile carrier service plan. You will not be able to view the Mobile site without the Internet enabled.

What do I look for to get this working on my handset?

You will need a phone with data access capabilities and a web browser. On some phones you'll see a link marked "Web," "Internet," or "Browser." The link may also be named after your particular phone provider's service. Then you need to key in the URL or access the link in the SMS message sent to your inbox. Once you arrive at the Mobile site homepage, be sure to bookmark the address for future use. If you need help bookmarking the address, consult your phone's user manual.

Do I have data access?

Data access allows you to browse the web via your handheld device. You will need a data plan with your carrier in order to use a Web browser on your phone. Check with your carrier for specific pricing details.

Can I access the Internet on my phone?

Most carriers give default access to each of their customers free of charge. This access gives you the ability to view mobile web sites. As long as your phone has WAP and GPRS capabilities, you will have access to the Internet. Most phones sold in the last 2-3 years have access. To check if your phone is capable, go to your carrier's website.
