About Margot Robbie
Sexy actress Margot Robbie was born July 2, 1990 in Gold Coast, Australia. She split time growing up between the beach and her grandparents’ farm. At 17, Margot moved to Melbourne to pursue an acting career. She quickly found success guest starring on several Australian TV shows, including City Homicide and The Elephant Princess, before landing roles in movies Vigilante and I.C.U.
In 2008, Margot got her big break scoring a starring role on the Australian soap opera Neighbours. Her run on the show lasted through 2011. “I spent my time on Neighbours getting my ducks lined up,” she told U.K.’s The Telegraph newspaper. “Because in America they need to see you at the right time.”
Her work paid off, and in 2011 she moved to Los Angeles and landed a role on the ABC drama series Pan Am alongside Christina Ricci. The series, in which Margot played a newly trained flight attendant, received praise from the critics, but failed to build an audience and was canceled after one season.
But Margot’s American success didn’t end there. In 2013, she had a role in the romantic comedy About Time, starring Rachel McAdams and Domhnall Gleeson. Then she landed the role of Naomi, Jordan Belfort’s wife, in Martin Scorsese’s biopic The Wolf of Wall Street. Margot told The Telegraph that the nude scenes gave her pause, but ultimately decided they fit the character.
“The whole point of Naomi is that her body is her only form of currency in this world. So when Marty was trying to help me out, and said in the scene where she seduces Jordan perhaps I could have a robe on, I said she wouldn’t. She has to be naked. She’s laying her cards on the table,” she said.
Morgot’s work earned her an MTV Movie Award nomination for Best Breakthrough Performance, and the Empire Award for Best Newcomer.
In 2015, she starred opposite Will Smith in the movie Focus, and wrapped her work on the movie Tarzan, coming out in 2016.
Outside of her acting work, Margot is an ice hockey fan, plays on an amateur hockey league team, and enjoys riding motorbikes.
