#AskPlayboy: Jenny Mollen On Watching Porn With Your Girlfriend

I really don’t understand why people are always so surprised that people watch porn. I love my girlfriend, but the reaction she gave me when she found my stash was like she had just discovered Romney’s binders of women, which sucks because I’ve recently been toying with the idea of watching porn with her. What is the etiquette on something like this? Do I seductively bring my laptop into the bedroom and turn on wherever I left off on Big Girls Don’t Cry? Basically what I want to know is how to introduce the idea of watching porn with my girlfriend without looking like an idiot.

Your woman’s reaction has less to do with the porn and more to do with the fact that you have a hidden stash of anything! The minute my husband hides something from me, I assume he’s doing it because he either A) is having an affair or B) is plotting to kill me. It’s just shady to keep anything under wraps from your partner. It suggests that you’re somehow embarrassed or ashamed of it.

SO STOP HIDING SHIT!

If you’re open and unapologetic about appreciating porn, your girl might be too. If you are weird and secretive, she is of course going to feel threatened. Asking her to watch with you is a great way to destigmatize the subject. And when you are watching, remember that you have company. It wouldn’t hurt to mention that you are more turned on by the actions on screen than the actual people themselves. Otherwise, a pricey boob job might be going on your credit card.
