We've all got too much tech on our hands, which makes it all too easy to get snap happy and send the, er, wrong message to a lady you're hoping to woo.

Never fear: Playboy is here.

Want to impress the woman in your life with a not-too-vain, not-too-naked selfie? Here are the rules.

The first selfie rule is: wipe off that duck face pucker. Leave the kiss face to the cheerleaders.

The most important rule? A gentleman keeps his pants on. Keep her guessing. An unsolicited reveal is generally unwelcome.

Next, consider your lighting. Natural light works well. Or prop a lamp in front of you so that it creates dark, soft light behind you. Don’t put the lamp against your face—the light will be too harsh for both you and your intended viewer.

Now consider your pose. If you’re standing, remember to stand straight. Put your hands in your pockets and look directly at the camera.

What kind of expression should you have? Just be yourself. Look relaxed and natural. Refrain from adding borders or filters.

When you’ve picked the photo you like best, hit “SEND”!
