Kama Sutra Sundays: Electric Chair

By Playboy.com Staff

<p>We don't know if this is more or less shocking than the eponymous big chair.  </p>

While the Kama Sutra is indeed loaded with all kinds of tantric, kinky sex positions, it advises on other matters as well and in fact insists that its teachings not be practiced in and of themselves, or for gratuitous pleasure.

So other, less carnal activities the Kama Sutra advises be practiced in tandem are as follows:

“Singing; dancing; playing a musical instrument; the union of singing, dancing and playing a musical instrument; arraying and adorning an idol with rice and flowers; playing on a musical glass filled with water; storing and accumulating water in aqueducts; magic; study of sentences difficult to pronounce; drawing inferences; knowledge of mines and quarries; various ways of gambling; [and finally]…A game, which consisted in repeating verses, and as one person finished, another person had to commence at once, repeating another verse, beginning with the same letter with which the last speaker’s verse ended, whoever failed to repeat was considered to have lost, and to be subject to pay a forfeit or stake of some kind.”
