“…Young women love men who live with them, and who are handsome, good looking and well dressed. As for the sayings that though women may fall in love, they still make no effort themselves to gain over the object of their affections, that is only a matter of idle talk.” – Kama Sutra, Part III, Chapter III, “On Courtship, and the Manifestation of Feelings by Outward Signs and Deeds”

And so goes, out the window, the idea that she is playing hard to get. Thus spake the Kama Sutra. No longer can men blame their repeated fruitless attempts to attract women on their suspected coy nature, their insistence on the chase. If a woman seems put off, perhaps disgusted by incessant Facebook pokes and misquoted poetry, it is not that she is testing you, taking up the role of the forbidden fruit, it is simply that she is put off, perhaps disgusted.

But as is its custom, the Kama Sutra does not leave you in the lurch. It suggests that if your affection is not being returned in kind, perhaps you should be more handsome…

Thanks, ever helpful Kama Sutra. At least you gave us this:
