While the vast majority of revelers that take to the streets this weekend in honor of St. Patrick’s Day will favor green—green beer, green beards, green barf—we here at Playboy.com prefer red. 

Why? Well, through the years, we’ve featured some of the world’s fiercest fiery-haired females in our pages, those fine fair-skinned maidens from the Isle of Eire, most commonly referred to as redheads.

Perhaps you are familiar with a few of them: a Miss Jaime Edmondson, maybe, who along with being Playmate of the Month in January 2010 has also penned Play-by-Playmate for us for the better part of two years. Or maybe you prefer Leanna Decker, 2012’s Cybergirl of the Year. How about Bree Morgan, Alyssa Michelle or AJ Alexander? Absolutely gorgeous gingers, all.

But certainly not all the gorgeous gingers. Playboy, of course, predates the information age, which is why we’d like to take a little trip back in time this St. Patrick’s Day to introduce you to some of our redheaded Playmates who appeared in print though the years; everyone from Miss January 1956 Lynn Turner to Laura Richmond, Miss September 1988.
