In honor of Cinco de Mayo, our editorial team test drove the best tequila drinks worth celebrating with!


THE GOOD:

Vanessa: Really prominent smell and taste, great blend! Tanner & Zina: It doesn't taste like tequila. Michael: Perfect for a summer dock session. Kris: I love this! Leslie: Full of flavor, sip straight.

THE BAD:

Leslie: I can live without this, not a party drink. Vanessa: Not an all-night drink. Tanner: None!

RESOLUTION:

"The tequila for non-tequila drinkers."

THE BAD:

RECIPE:

16 oz. Patron Silver 8 oz. Patron Citronge 1 jalapeno, sliced 8 oz. fresh lime juice 1 tbsp sugar kosher salt, lime wedges jalapeno slices & ice

In blender, pulse jalapeno slices with lime juice and strain out pieces. Mix juice with sugar and both Patrons in pitcher and chill. Serve in salt-rimmed glasses with lime wedges and jalapeno slices as garnish.

THE GOOD:

Tanner: Great concept. Kris: My favorite cocktail now! Vanessa: Very creative, would be great with fried food! Zina: I liked the spicy notes! Michael: Definitely a conversation starter.

THE BAD:

Zina: Too sweet. Vanessa: Gets old quick. Joy: No more than one in a night.

RECIPE:

2 oz. el Jimador Tequila Reposado 1 oz. lime juice 5 oz. Coca-Cola pinch of salt

Pour ingredients over ice in highball glass. Garnish with a fresh lime wedge.

THE GOOD:

Tanner: Went down easy. Michael: Simple but efficient.

THE BAD:

Leslie: Glorified Cuba Libre, nothing special. Tanner: Tastes like tequila and coke. Not much else to it. Vanessa: Mixing coke with tequila is a sin. Joy: Mexican Libre?

1.5 oz. Patron Silver .5 oz. Patron Citronge orange juice juice of half a lime sweet and sour mix lime wheel for garnish

In a mixing glass full of ice, combine both Patrons, orange and lime juices and sweet and sour mix. Shake well, strain and serve in a chilled martini glass garnished with a lime wheel.

THE GOOD:

Zina: Fresh, tasty, easy to drink. Vanessa: Yummy but dangerous. Michael: Easy to relax with this one.

THE BAD:

Leslie: Can be made with cheaper stuff than Patron. Tanner: Too simple. Kris: Too sweet for me.

Combine ingredients in a highball glass filled with ice. Stir gently and garnish with a lime wedge.

THE GOOD:

Tanner: Fresh, light, a great summer drink. Leslie: A great summer drink. Very "girl friendly." Michael: Pretty refreshing, not overpowering.

THE BAD:

Vanessa: Too sweet, strange taste. Joy: Danger route. It goes down way too easy!
