Rock and roll is sexy music, and music videos for hard-rocking tunes traditionally feature hot babes, so naturally Playboy and rock videos are a natural fit. Since the rise of the music video in the early 1980s, Playmates have been heating up rock videos with their unmatched sex appeal, and today in Playboy Retro we’re looking at a few of these rocking centerfold angels.

The ravishing Lillian Müller was the “it” woman in two timeless music videos: she was the object of love and lust in Rod Stewart’s “Do Ya Think I’m Sexy”and the sultry chemistry teacher in Van Halen’s “Hot for Teacher.” But before she set hearts aflame in the rock world, she was Playboy’s Miss August 1975 and Playmate of the Year 1976—originally from Norway, the European modeling sensation crossed to our shores thanks to the popularity of her Playboy shoot. A generation of men weaned on MTV will always be thankful Lillian made it in America.

Many women come to pose for Playboy due to their admiration and emulation of the greats, such as Marilyn Monroe and Bettie Page, but Karen Morton had a role model a little closer to home: her cousin (and former babysitter) Elaine Morton was Miss June 1970. Karen followed in her cousin’s footsteps to become Playmate of the Month for July 1978. Outside of Playboy, Karen Morton is famous as Jenny in the video for 1982’s smash hit “867-5309/Jenny" by Tommy Tutone. Watch the video and we guarantee both the song and Karen will be stuck in your head all day.

Actress and model Carrie Stevens’ connection to rock and roll began well before she appeared in any music videos. In her youth she was a self-described rock star groupie for a while until she got into a serious four-year relationship with KISS drummer Eric Carr. A talented woman in her own right, she became a successful TV actress and in-demand model, leading to Carrie’s star turn as Playboy’s Miss June 1997. Everybody who came of age in the 1990s knows Carrie from Third Eye Blind’s 1999 video for “Never Let You Go”; at least half the video centers on this badass babe as she climbs a human chain up to the band. Now it’s your turn to see what the rockers saw in Carrie.

These amazing women are enthralling in their music video roles, but wait till you see them really rock out in their sensual Playboy shoots.
