Chalk it up to my love of a good bargain (and to too many rum and cokes at my local cocktail bar this past weekend) but I thought it would be fun to take advantage of all the sales going on across the interwebs right now and pull a selection of dope items that can and should be bought right now, for cheap.
If I can pass along some knowledge it took me years to learn, fit-agnostic items like shoes and ties and t-shirts are the best things to look for come online sale time. Avoid blindly purchasing things that require more subtlety and an honest, long look in the mirror, like suits or jackets. Remember, no jpeg will ever reveal to you that you need more room across your chest or that your butt looks like an iPad in those pants. Stick with the simple things where the margin for error is much, much lower.
First up, this handsome canvas shoe from Nike, now available for less than 30 clams. As a general rule, tennis shoes and running shoes will always feel more in season than clunky basketball shoes in the summer months. Plus, if you’re one of those bros who loves rocking colorful (ostentatious?) kicks, 30 bucks is a small price to pay to get a pair of respectable, understated kicks in the rotation. And in my humble opinion, the blue accent swoosh on these bad boys seals the deal.
Next, a stoner/surfer-inspired graphic tee from rebellious surf upstarts Warriors of Radness. I'd save this bad boy for weekend-only use, but man, what a cool shirt to walk around in when you are having some "me time." Pair it with some fitted white/cream jeans and loosely roll up the sleeves for that extra bit of flair that doesn't come off as being "extra."
Another big winner I spotted is this super fly tie from the don dadas of investment-quality neckwear, Kiton. This guy is slashed to a very reasonable $139 and well worth it. Who else is going to be rocking a rich man's polka dot tie to the office this summer? No one! Stand out in a good way. Buy this.
