Sex Sells: Vegetarianism

Our Sex Sells feature is a fun way both to collect the hottest and most entertaining of the sexiest ads out there and to make the point that sex can be used, and is used, to sell just about anything and everything. Not just the obvious items like lingerie but also the unexpected, like hamburgers.

And since we featured some hot ads pushing hot beef, we thought it only fair to look at some ads using sex to push the opposite: Vegetarianism.

Animal rights group PETA has been making controversial sexy ads for years to convince people to eat veg. Here are a few that use the power of advertising and the power of our sex drives to sell people on throwing out the prime rib and breaking out the tofu.

This ad was supposedly banned from airing during the Super Bowl (though that could be a PR hook from PETA) for being too hot for TV. It makes the claim that studies show vegetarians have better sex lives. The supposed science isn’t really featured and instead they make their argument by showing hot babes about to... make love to their vegetables? That doesn’t make us want to get the broccoli out of the fridge.

Okay, this spoof of a classic porno is pretty funny; we might have to go out and eat some bacon to make up for laughing.

Her boyfriend went vegan and now has the energy for rough sex...sex rough enough to put his girlfriend in a neck brace? We love animals, but if giving up meat means we’re going to snap our partner’s head off because we’re suddenly making love like the Hulk, then we’re not going to take the risk of leaving the animal off our plate.

Is this the most disturbing ad ever made?

Nope, this one is.
