When it comes to a foreign accent, there’s nothing sexier than the sophisticated and upscale voice of a gorgeous English actress. Rhona Mitra first brought her seductive curves to viewers in the late ’90s in the hit TV show Party of Five before making her film debut with a small role in the thriller Hollow Man with Kevin Bacon. In 2000, Mitra was cast in a regular role in the U.S. medical drama Gideon’s Crossing, which lasted a year.

In 2002, Rhona let her hair down opposite Sacha Baron Cohen in his first major character movie, Ali G Indahouse, and went on to larger roles in the rom-com Sweet Home Alabama and conjoined twin comedy Stuck on You. Mitra finally got the opportunity to strut her stuff as a lead actress in the independent action thriller Highwaymen and the original Spartacus miniseries on USA.

Mitra returned to network primetime as law associate Tara Wilson on the final season of ABC’s legal drama The Practice and followed her character over to the series’ successful spinoff Boston Legal opposite heavyweights James Spader and William Shatner. Mitra also found success offscreen with modeling and singing; notably, she was the face of the Tomb Raider video games as Lara Croft until Angelina Jolie took over the character with the film series.

Mitra’s career continued on both television and the big screen throughout the late 2000s with roles in Ryan Murphy’s acclaimed series Nip/Tuck and the popular Underworld series of vampire-werewolf films, where she played the daughter of a vampire elder who is sacrificed after a few romps with a forbidden lover. Mitra is currently starring as the head of Section 20 in Cinemax’s Strike Back.
