Up In Smoke: Erotic fantasies

Think your girl is daydreaming of you and only you? Think again. Learn about her Erotic Fantasies here.

Her body and heart may be all yours, but don’t think for a second her mind doesn’t stray. We personally don’t find any issue with this, since we’re sure that you’ve let your mind wander more than once into an alternate reality where you were as lucky as Hugh Hefner.

According to research, sexual fantasies are virtually inevitable. The book The Normal Bar: The Surprising Secrets of Happy Couples and What They Reveal about Creating a New Normal in Your Relationship polled approximately 100,000 participants on subjects that come up in relationships ranging from finances to sex issues, and according to that research, 61 percent of women and 90 percent of men admitted to sexually fantasizing about people they meet.

“Supporting the premise that this is an instinctive response—rather than a reflection on the primary relationship—we found no correlation between the duration of a relationship and the amount of lusting that goes on outside it. After your first year as a couple, you may or may not ‘lust in your heart’ for others, but there’s no reason to fear that your partner is daydreaming about others just because you’ve been together so long.”

Interestingly, the research found no correlation between these erotic fantasies and couples’ happiness in their relationships, meaning even if you have a healthy relationship, your spouse may be letting their mind wander.

And as our residential advice columnist Jenny Mollen once said, “You know what’s hotter than having sex with one person for the rest of your life? EVERYTHING!”
