We may not have enough research to cure the common cold, but one thing is for sure: scientists have gone above and beyond to prove why oral sex is healthy for both men and women. Aside from being one of the best parts of sex, studies have shown that getting head can actually save a man’s life. We’re not saying to swap it out for CPR, but performing oral sex on males has been proven to lower blood pressure, relieve stress and even (maybe) lower the risk of prostate cancer!
Blood Pressure: A study investigating the connection between sex and blood pressure discovered that even though masturbation or oral sex isn’t as good as the real thing, they still alleviated blood pressure issues when compared to those who abstain. Don’t use that as a pickup line, but it’s quite the reason to shack up!
Stress: Sex in any form has been proven time and time again as a great way to alleviate stress thanks to the chemical released by your brain, dopamine. Mix that with your rushing endorphins and you’ve created the perfect cocktail to put your mind at peace.
Prostate Cancer: While the Mayo Clinic confirms that there is no “conclusive evidence that frequent ejaculation reduces the risk of prostate cancer,” some studies have shown that men who tend to ejaculate more than others have a slightly lower risk of prostate cancer. To gain this positive side effect, the Journal of the American Medical Association says you must have sex at least 12 times a week, and for every increase of three your risk of cancer will decrease by 15 percent.
So there you have it. Three good reasons you should increase your foreplay and friskiness in the name of health!
