The search is on for Playboy's 55th Anniversary Playmate. Playmate Editor and The Girls Next Door star Holly Madison is conducting the nationwide search for the sexy, sophisticated, all-American girl next door. The fresh-faced winner will become Miss January 2009 and receive a $55,000 modeling contract.

In January 1974, Playboy named its first official anniversary Playmate. To commemorate the event, 20th Anniversary Playmate Nancy Cameron's two-sided gatefold was the first (and only) front-and-back Centerfold ever published in the magazine.
