Angela: I play this girl named Beth Anne who is a backup singer in Dewey Cox's first band. He's from Alabama, and I'm from Alabama. We end up having his first affair. Then he dumps me for Jenna Fischer and I'm devastated, of course. I'm the first affair of many. I think there are like 20 affairs, but you only see four in the movie. So, I kick it off.
Playboy.com: What was it like to work on this movie?
Angela: It had a big budget, which is nice, because you get treated like royalty, especially when you have a good contract role in a movie. You get all these little perks, like people asking, "What kind of espresso do you want? Do you want a fancy latte from Starbucks?" It's like, "Wow, this is how they live," and it's really sweet. You get a little spoiled. When the movie ends, you go back to being a regular struggling actor, and you're like, "Damn, that was nice." It's an incentive to go out and get more roles.
Playboy.com: What was the funniest moment on the set?
Angela: I was sitting on John C. Reilly's lap. I was incredibly nervous and intimidated. We were going to have a kissing scene. His character doesn't have a sense of smell in the movie. He asked me in one of his lines, "Well, Beth Anne, since I can't smell you, is it okay if I feel what you smell like?" I thought that was so freaking funny, and I kept laughing and spitting all over his face. He kept saying it, and I kept laughing. He had to keep wiping the spit off his face. I don't know why saliva was coming out of my mouth -- maybe nerves or something. Then, in one moment while they were fixing the lights, I was like, "So, how about those Lakers?" And then he laughed all over me and almost did a spit take. He said, "Angela, you can't be nervous. Are you nervous? It's just me."
Playboy.com: Is there anyone on the set that you were really impressed with?
Angela: I really like Jenna Fischer. She was so humble. I thought that was pretty cool. I was really excited to meet Jack White. He was really cute. He told me my dress was pretty. Of course, it was my wardrobe, but still! He's an incredible person; he's mysterious. He wasn't smug or anything like you would think a rock star would be.
Playboy.com: Your husband's an actor and musician. What do you think it is about rock stars that women are so attracted to?
Angela: Oh, my god, there's the danger and there's something mysterious. My husband looks like a rough man. When I met him, I thought, "This is not someone who will follow me around like a sick puppy." It's mostly the mystery and the thought of having something that all other women want. And he's mine.
