Roos Van Montfort was Miss January 2014, which earned her the title of Playboy’s 60th Anniversary Playmate. Roos, pronounced “rose,” has tawny-brown hair, brown eyes, and a certain European je ne sais quoi. She was born in Geldrop, a small town in the southern Netherlands, more famous for Lord of the Rings tourism than for fashion models.
“Growing up in the Netherlands was calm and peaceful,” she told Playboy in a slight but charming Dutch accent. “I always knew that I was different. I wanted to see the world.”
Roos started modeling at 20 when she signed a big modeling contract in London. Her ambitions included living in California, becoming a Bond girl, having her own business, and making lots of babies. The Dutch beauty told Playboy she’s thrilled with how things are going so far.
“Being a Playmate is the coolest thing I’ve done in my modeling career,” she said. “It’s a little part of history—after all, there will only be one Miss January 2014.”
Posing with wolves outside a Hollywood castle on her Playboy shoot, Roos looked right at home. “I was actually freaking out on the rocks, because I thought the wolves were going to knock me right off the cliff,” said Roos, laughing. “So I pretended that I was a queen, and that the wolves were protecting me.”
Dressed in gowns, fur, and fierce jewelry, Roos looked like a warrior princess in her photos. “My last name makes me sound like royalty. Now I just have to find my prince!”
She confessed to Playboy that she has a thing for “funny, confident men—even the messy ones who drink too much beer and eat burgers.” Her biggest turn-off? Guys who spend more time in front of the mirror than she does. “Don’t make me wait for you, baby!”
