He may have been born in Korea, but UC Berkeley grad John Cho is an American institution. First, he introduced the term MILF to the nation's sexual lexicon in American Pie. He also had a memorable role in American Beauty and fronts the L.A. rock band Left of Zed. This summer he stars in the weed-fueled road trip comedy Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle, which may well become this generation's Bill & Ted. In this Dirty Dozen, we chat with Cho about daytime sex, Carmen Electra and the shortcut to getting her in the mood.
1. What impact has being the "MILF guy" in American Pie had on you?
John Cho: It really did become a nationwide cultural term. A bouncer once said to me, "Are you familiar with the MILF website? Have you seen any money off of that?" He thought I was the originator of the term, but I guess that's my moniker for the rest of my life. I feel so dubiously American. I wasn't even born in this country. I was born in Korea, and to think that I've helped spread a bizarre new lexicon of dirty phrases is an odd honor.
2. What's the funniest sex term you've heard lately?
JC: The "Dirty Sanchez" is new to me.
3. In the beginning of Harold & Kumar, you catch your roommate trimming his pubic hair. Have you ever trimmed your pubes to make your penis look bigger?
JC: I don't think I have a problem with long pubes. Only lately has it occurred to me to shave a little bit.
4. Do you have any nicknames for your penis?
JC: [Laughs] My girlfriend says I say "cock" way too much. I know that's not a nickname, but she despises that term. She thinks it sounds immeasurably dirty. I like it because it sounds strong.
