Sharon Clark, Playboy’s Miss August 1970, went on to become Playmate of the Year 1971. At age 27 she was the oldest woman to become Playmate of the Year, a record she held until 15 years later when Kathy Shower became Playmate of the Year 1986 at age 33. What inspired Sharon to become a Playmate? “Originally it was for the money, but the experience is turning out to be very exciting.“
Born in Seminole, Oklahoma, Sharon studied sociology at the University of Oklahoma. She also served in the Peace Corps in Micronesia, where she was a teacher. In the late 1970s, Sharon started appearing in films and on television. She acted in the movies Lifeguard, The Billion Dollar Hobo, The Little Dragons, and Ladies Night. She made guest appearances on Charlie’s Angels and CHiPs and had roles in several TV movies.
In a 1970 interview Sharon described her ideal evening to Playboy: “It would start with dinner out and then swimming at a nicely lonely cave.” Sharon’s turn-ons include “travel, good movies, and dancing.” Her turnoffs include “cigarettes in dishes.”
