What shifted Andrisen Morton from a traditional men's store to a bastion for fine Italian formalwear? Co-founder and Chairman Craig Andrisen points to one movie. "For so long, everybody wanted to be in Brooks Brothers. It was navy blazers and gray flannel slacks and a few pinstriped suits -- and then Armani did American Gigolo, and the world changed," he says. "The American man wanted to look sexy." Andrisen Morton, now the largest specialty store in Colorado, was more than happy to fulfill the desires of thousands of Richard Gere wannabes. As the store nears its 30-year anniversary, it continues to evolve with the individual tastes of its customers; 20 percent of its business comes from made-to-measure suits and now premium sportswear demands attention. "It's like they have two complete wardrobes," Andrisen declares. "They have a work wardrobe and a going-out wardrobe. And we've got enough to cover both."
