John Allan, a protégé of famous Parisian grooming pioneer Jean Louis David, specializes in upscale gentlemen's clubs that cater to men of distinction in
desperate need of a little cleanup under the fingernails. Of his four Manhattan locations, the newest, in the heart of TriBeCa, features a pool table and bespoke tailor in
addition to his signature grooming and spa offerings. Men flock here for Allan's Full Service, a scalp massaging shampoo, conditioning treatment, hot towel, haircut,
manicure, shoe shine and beverage of choice for $65. In New York, stealing a base on Jorge Posada is easier than finding a deal that sweet. Suits also stream into the
manly space for sports pedicures, massages and facials, all designed to relieve the body of the diesel-and-dust crust that builds up on a typical day on Wall Street. You can also pick up high-end grooming products (like $275 Italian crocodile razors) in the attached retail shop. It's traditional, but not without a sense of modernity and class.
