The profanity in the name alone is reason to check out this place. Topping off the edgy Chambers (named one of the nation's sexiest hotels by Forbes Traveler), this upscale Midwestern bar's unlikely moniker comes from neon signage at its entrance that spells out the crass sentiment, courtesy of contemporary British artist Tracey Emin. The real draw comes from the ultimate arty cool of this bar's clientele and staff. Waitresses in backless black dresses look like they are runway models who take their side job seriously and are seriously good at it. Creativity is everywhere, both nearby at the world-renowned Walker Art Center and the equally prestigious Guthrie Theater, and on the premises courtesy of the Chambers' extensive conceptual art collection. When the crowds swell, admission to this year-round rooftop spot means working your way past velvet ropes. Once through, though, you'll discover art films by William Wegman and Dara Birnbaum projected on exterior walls. The menu runs from yellow fin ahi mini burgers to charred chicken satay, while the views include the historical Orpheum Theater and the Twin Cities iconic Powerball billboard. Want to come in from the cold? A saving grace at The Red White and Fucking Blue is the floor-to-ceiling glass walls that subtly separate the inside from the outside while still allowing 360-degree vistas of the Minneapolis skyline.
