Unless you've been living without E!, you've no doubt stumbled upon a few dozen reports detailing the goings-on at Teddy's, Hollywood's secret society clubhouse that lives at the bottom of L.A.'s famed Roosevelt Hotel on the corner of Hollywood and Orange. "Even with Amanda Scheer-Demme kicked to the curb, it hasn't slowed down the large number of celebs that frequent," one industry insider tells us. When management terminated the so-called Queen of the Nightlife's contract, the Thompson Hotels Group took over the reins. And for the-tiny-lounge-that-could existing as part of L.A.'s oldest-run hotel, it manages to remain the epitome of new Hollywood. "It symbolizes Hollywood right now; it's part of the culture here," says Jason Pomeranc, a principal in the Thompson Hotels Group. Back in the day the first four Oscar ceremonies were held at the Roosevelt, and Teddy's used to be the legendary CineGrill, a cabaret club, so there's history behind the dark, rich walls in this European-style lair that's still known for its tough door policy. "Waiting in line doesn't get you in," he says. This is a place for regulars, but "it's a welcoming atmosphere if you do get in."
Behind the velvet rope: Lindsay Lohan's been known to make special music requests or just hop behind those turntables herself to spin. Other nights you might hear rock, hip-hop and R&B spun by someone like Jon Abrams, the DJ from The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
VIP privileges: Behind that sparkling chandelier in the middle of the room is where most of the dancing takes place, and if you're lucky enough to get in you might find Orlando Bloom, Penelope Cruz, Prince, Leonardo DiCaprio or Justin Timberlake dancing atop tables.
