"For a while we could get along with the attitude of, 'If it's not broken, don't fix it.' Now we don't rest until a product is absolutely perfect," Perkins explains as he leads Orvis into uncharted waters, like its move to offer membership in lifestyle communities inspired by the brand's outdoor gentleman aesthetic. Orvis Shorefox will be the first, set to open in Colorado in 2008.
