Suit Up

Playboy models slip into Speedo's controversial 2008 swimsuit. Plus: 20 more years of Olympic swimwear

When Speedo debuted its high-tech LZR Racer swimsuit this year, it created a wave of controversy. Swimmers wearing the bonded bodysuit broke world records left and right -- 35 records within three months, in fact -- and pundits speculated that we'd never see the NASA-developed suits in action at the Olympic level. Well, we will. In fact, even Nike, a fierce competitor of Speedo, is allowing its sponsored athletes to wear them at the Beijing summer games.

We wondered how our models would look in these skintight swimsuits for the space age, especially compared to years past. So we acquired Speedo's official female Olympic racing suits of the last 20 years, from the '88 Summer Olympics in Seoul to Beijing this year. To see how these suits have advanced is incredible. To see them on our sexy models? Even better.
