Tylyn John, Playboy’s Miss March 1992, was born and raised in Encino, California. She is of Irish, Danish, Welsh, and Dutch ancestry. Tylyn’s father, Tom John, was a champion motocross racer, and he taught her to ride. She rode her first motorcycle when she was only five years old, and at 16 she started riding her father’s Harley Sportster.
When Tylyn turned 21 she got a job as a cocktail waitress and was approached by a photographer. She worked as a model for four years before testing to become a Playmate. She didn’t tell her parents about becoming a Centerfold until the day before her issue hit the newsstands, but they were very supportive and encouraging.
Tylyn listed her turn-ons for Playboy: “men on Harleys, cowboys in tight Wranglers, and bubble baths.” Her turnoffs: “hypocrites, traffic, jealousy, overbooked flights, unfaithful men, greed, speed bumps, and speeding tickets.” She describes her perfect man as “sexy, romantic, funny, secure, always surprising me—never a dull moment!”
In a 1992 interview, Tylyn told Playboy her ambitions included becoming a wife and mom. That ambition came true. Tylyn lives in Los Angeles with her husband and son.
