Every man's calendar is filled with dates meant for enjoying the company of lovely ladies and smooth libations. But few can top Cinco de Mayo. Summer weather -- with women in skimpy summer outfits -- is just over the horizon; grilling season has begun; and a premier boxing match begs for the big-screen treatment.

It's also the perfect opportunity to enjoy Jose Cuervo Black, a darker, smoother and more refined añejo tequila. Aged in charred-oak barrels, the spirit is ideal on the rocks or paired with cola and lime, a perfect drink to sip and savor.

Now you have something to watch and something to drink. But the party's not finished. We turned to Pilar Lastra, Miss August 2004, to fill us in on everything else you need to know to throw a certified Cinco de Mayo celebration.

Pilar's Party Tips

Playboy.com: What's the best food to serve at a Cinco de Mayo party?
Pilar: You can't have a great Cinco de Mayo party without fresh guacamole and chips. And grilled carne asada always does the trick.

Playboy.com: Do you have any personal recipes you like to make or show off?
Pilar: I make a great tequila shrimp served over a bed of rice.

Playboy.com: What songs would make your Cinco de Mayo playlist?
Pilar: I love anything by Pablo Montero, Alejandro Escovedo and Lucero (the singer, not the band).

Playboy.com: What's your favorite way to drink Cuervo Black?
Pilar: I like Cuervo Black and cola. But I also like to drink it straight up on the rocks. It's so smooth that it still tastes great that way. They should give me a few more bottles; I'm sure I could come up with a few more ideas!

Playboy.com: Any other party tips for Cinco de Mayo?
Pilar: At my house, it's not a Cinco de Mayo party without the mariachis.
