Foxy, a newly launched California cannabis brand, has created a short documentary about the first cannabis delivery service in New York City. The documentary, created in partnership with Eaze and debuted exclusively on Playboy.com, shares the story of Mickey Cesar, the self-proclaimed “Pope of Dope.”
Cesar first became active in the New York cannabis space as an activist and entrepreneur in the late 1970s. He eventually opened the first telephone delivery service, which he advertised with the phone number 1-800-WANT-POT.
Sharing never-before-seen footage, imagery and interviews—including a conversation with acclaimed photographer Clayton Patterson—the short film covers the conception of New York City’s first delivery service and the mastermind behind it.
In honor of Cesar, Foxy has created the Pope’s Pie, a high-potency premium indoor flower, available exclusively at eaze.com. As a longtime advocate for cannabis decriminalization, Playboy is thrilled to share his story.
