About Allie Leggett

In a way, Allie Leggett’s trajectory is the stuff of sparkly childhood fairytales – and unofficial Playmate tradition. Born and raised in McCreary County, a small town in “the middle of the Bible Belt,” as she puts it, Leggett was a struggling college student at Western Kentucky University, she competed for the title of Miss Kentucky at 19 in hopes of earning some scholarship money. She won. “I wasn’t your stereotypical pageant girl,” she says. “I moved out to L.A. two months later, and I’ve been here ever since.” It was only a short matter of time before she was scouted by a modeling agency.

“I kind of broke the mold. I always had the mindset that I wanted to get out. Luckily, I had an out, so I took it and ran with it.” Despite her Southern upbringing, Leggett emanates the California babe persona through and through. “I love the beach. I am always at the beach. I’m definitely a beach girl.” She also doesn’t have the Southern drawl you’d might expect; instead, her neutral accent reflects her somewhat global citizenship. Leaving home at 19 and frequent jaunts to locales like London and Brazil will have that effect. Then again, she’s found her own roots. “I hate to be vain, but I feel much sexier when I’m tan. When it’s warm and sunny outside and I can jump in the ocean: There’s something very sexy about salt water on your skin and salty hair.”

Leggett, the youngest of five kids, never thought she was going to be a model, but the spontaneity that comes with a job that forces you to travel at a moment’s notice suits her. “For me, the best thing about modeling is you never really know what’s going to happen next. I just woke up one day and had a message, “Hey, do you want to go to Iceland to do this shoot?” she says, visibly excited. “I never would have had the opportunity if I hadn’t stuck with it and thrown myself out there. I just think the best plans are no plans.”
