Yesterday, Amy Schumer shared a photo of herself in a bikini top to Instagram. Since the comedian is usually fully-dressed in the pics she posts online, we knew the bikini shot meant something important. Was Schumer trying to say she deserved a spot in the new Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition? Nah. Turns out, the bikini pic is a behind-the-scenes photo from Snatched, her upcoming comedy movie. Schumer not only co-wrote the movie with Katie Dippold and Kim Caramele, she stars in it, opposite Goldie Hawn.
In the R-rated comedy, Schumer plays a woman who convinces her overly-cautious mother (Hawn) to accompany her on a vacation to Ecuador, where both women are kidnapped. This is the first movie Hawn has made in 15 years. In August, Schumer told the L.A. Times it took a while to get the Academy Award-winning actress involved.
“I met her on an airplane a couple of years ago and told her there’s a movie I really want to make with her. And she was very nice. ‘OK, honey.’ She probably thought I was a psycho. ‘OK, crazy person.’ Then I’d meet her at different things, saying, ‘We’re making this movie together,’ and I think, eventually, some people got in her ear and told her I wasn’t crazy, that I make things.”
Here’s a promotional shot of the two women in which Schumer wears that same bikini:
