Suki Waterhouse has officially joined the ranks of the multi-hyphenates, the polymaths, and whatever else it is we call people who are seemingly good at everything. We already know that the 25-year-old British flower can model. Those who have seen her as a spirited amputee in this summer’s The Bad Batch say she can act, too (us plebeians will find out soon.) Now the face of Burberry is flexing her considerable vocal chops in the music video for her song “Brutally.” It’s actually kind of messed up how good she is at singing. Like, it’s just unfair.

Waterhouse actually released the mournful breakup song last November, but now that it has a fancy clip courtesy of Refinery29, it’s much harder not to pay attention. The video is a pastiche of clips from old movies and close-ups of the face that has covered some of the biggest magazines in the world.

The breakup song—on which Waterhouse sings things like “we were always on borrowed time”—might very well have been written about Waterhouse’s ex, Bradley Cooper. If anyone can inspire an emotionally wrought dagger of a song, it’s this guy.

As for the video, Waterhouse told R29 that it was filmed during moments that she had trouble being alone, sitting with her thoughts and memories.

“When I look back at the footage I feel an understanding of who I used to be…even if it’s very recent footage,” she said. “It’s a record of the tapestry of my life.“

Waterhouse went on to hint that maybe her relationship with Cooper, or another ex-lover for that matter, was more complicated than how it was portrayed.

"Love isn’t always safe or pretty. We wanted to be honest,” she said. “Sometimes love can be aggressive and abusive. These images of hard passionate kisses side-by-side with brutal behaviors is what, more often than, not a lot of people experience.”
