About Lexy Panterra
Lexy Panterra has taught 10,000 women to twerk. And she wants to teach the world. Since January 2014, Lexy’s grown TwerkOut into a wildly successful business that has her thinking she could maybe even franchise her booty-shaking dance moves.
“She … personally never liked the look and feel of traditional exercises,” Lexy’s website, lextwerkout.com, explains. “So she set out to start a modern and innovative way to stay in shape and have fun while doing it.” She’s gathered a few celebrity students, including Christina Millian and “Scary Spice” Mel B.
Here’s how a beginner’s class goes: There’s a warm-up. Then she teaches the basics, and they go through a freestyle song. “Then we do a ‘twerk train line’ or have a 'twerkle’ so the girls can show off all the moves they’ve learned,” she told MadameNoire.com. It gets sweaty, but it’s fun, she says. At the end, there’s a cool-down.
“I’d love to teach the world to twerk because, whether they admit it or not, all women want to twerk,” she told Barcroft. “I have women coming to me saying they were nervous at first but now their sex life has improved dramatically after taking the class.”
Lexy also makes music—singing, songwriting, and collaborating in the Los Angeles music scene She’s known for her work with DJ Major Lazer. Lexy’s music is made to dance to—if, like her, twerking is your kind of dancing.
