Deadly MilkBakersfield, California--A 21-year-old woman, an admitted drug user, has been tried for murder and felony child endangerment after her two-month-old baby apparently was poisoned by methamphetamine in the woman's breast milk. The defense argued that the baby died of sudden infant death syndrome. The jury deadlocked 11 to 1 on the murder charge but found the mother guilty of child endangerment.
