an englishman crosses the great divideUnlike most Americans, I grew up with daily assembly in a public school, where a hymn was sung and a prayer recited. It was unashamedly Christian in form; we addressed God as "He" and didn't say diddly about Muslims, Jews, Buddhists or anyone else.
