Common SenseI like Philip Howard's notions about cutting back on bureaucracy ("The Death of Common Sense," The Playboy Forum, September) by adding common sense to the process, but I find his vision somewhat naive. By suggesting that regulations governing small businesses can be reduced to a 12-page pamphlet, he seems to expect businesspeople, out of the goodness of their hearts, to look out for the safety and benefit of their workers and communities, even at the expense of profits.
