This we know to be true: In the early hours of July 6, 1986, fire fighters responded to a fire at a home in Paris, Illinois. It had been set in two locations. In a bedroom firefighters discovered the bodies of Dyke and Karen Rhoads. Dyke, lying near the door, had been stabbed 28 times. Karen, near the foot of the bed, had been stabbed 26 times.
