Last spring the media had a minor feeding frenzy over two discoveries: that a Republican senator from Pennsylvania, Rick Santorum, had a strong opinion about homosexuality, and that former drug czar and family values advocate William Bennett had apparently lost millions of dollars at Las Vegas and Atlantic City casinos.
