I read with interest the letter in January's "Reader Response" regarding "What City Is This?" (September). So true! Here in St. Louis independent coffeehouses have formed an association called Coffee Locals. Its goal is to inform the public that it has a choice, and spending money in these shops keeps customers' money local. These business owners are typically your neighbors, and they care more about the local parks, schools, roads, etc., than someone from a thousand miles...
