Algorithm is an unfamiliar word, but don't be afraid; it's just a collection of let­ters that when combined make a sound diat indicates a word and its meaning (Resistance Is Futile, November). These letters are simply tools that, when com­bined in certain arrangements, perform tasks for humans. That is all an algorithm is—a collection of information.
