It’s our first Saturday slate of the NFL season here in Week 16, as we’ll see a doubleheader featuring the defending Super Bowl-champion Philadelphia Eagles at Washington Commanders, followed by the matchup for first place in the NFC North – the Green Bay Packers at Chicago Bears.
To kick things off, the Eagles are 6.5-point favorites against the Commanders, with the total at 44.5 points. In the second matchup, the Bears are a slight 1.5-point favorite with the total at 46.5 points.
In this article, I will identify the best prop bets for one player on each team playing on this Saturday. For the Eagles-Commanders game, I’ve found some great value on Jalen Hurts and Marcus Mariota, while the Packers-Bears game led me to nice finds on Josh Jacobs and Colston Loveland.
Let’s dive in and see what will make us some profits today!
Best Bets for Philadelphia Eagles at Washington Commanders
Jalen Hurts: Over 25.5 Rushing Yards (-115)
It hasn’t been all that convincing, but Hurts has topped this mark of 25.5 rushing yards in five of his last six games.
Tonight’s matchup against the Commanders isn’t the most glamorous on paper, as they rank in the middle of the pack against rushing QBs. However, Washington’s D allowed Jaxson Dart to rush for 63 yards last week, and this is essentially a team looking forward to vacation instead of the playoffs.
In fact, each of the last three starting QBs to face the Commanders have all exceeded their rushing prop.
Marcus Mariota: Over 0.5 Interceptions (-115)
Make sure you grab this one at BetMGM because you’ll get odds around -145 at some of the other major sportsbooks.
Mariota has thrown picks in three of the last four games – and in six of his last nine. He escaped last game without throwing one, but that was against a weak Giants’ secondary, which is a far cry from what he’ll see tonight. The Eagles’ defense has snagged an interception in five straight games.
Philly is a fairly heavy favorite today, giving us even more optimism on hitting this wager. With the Bears and Packers both holding the tiebreaker over the Eagles’ last chance, this is probably their last chance to play a meaningful game until the playoffs, so look for them to come up big here.
Best Bets for Green Bay Packers at Chicago Bears
Josh Jacobs: Longest Rush – Over 13.5 Yards (-115)
I do like the Bears to win tonight’s game, but that doesn’t mean Jacobs can’t break a big run off in a losing effort. In fact, Jacobs has a rush of 15+ yards in four straight games – and in five of his last six.
Chicago is allowing the fifth-highest yards per carry (3.5) to the RB position, so the holes will be there for Jacobs. The last time these teams faced, Jacobs snapped one off for 21 yards, making him the last of four straight teams to have a run over 15 yards before last week.
Colston Loveland: Anytime Touchdown (+170)
Pretty damn good odds we’re getting on Loveland, who was actually the only TE to score and get 5+ targets against the Packers between Week 8 and now. After Trey McBride went nuclear vs Green Bay in Week 7, this defense really focused in on limiting production from that area.
Fellow TE Cole Kmet had an ankle injury in last week’s game and was only practicing on a limited basis as of Wednesday. Regardless, Loveland should be able to work some magic here.
Loveland has scored twice over the last four games, and he’s been targeted 5+ times in each of the four. He’s even gotten a red zone look in four of his last five games.
