We’ve all heard of the little blue pill, but Megan Fox is now your little red pill. In an ad for the telehealth company Ro, Fox dresses in a skin-tight red body suit, playing their new compounded erectile dysfunction medication, Ro Sparks. “I personally feel like maybe I was born for this,” Fox told People about her latest gig.
“I’m not Viagra, I’m Ro Sparks,” Fox says in the ad. “A prescription medication for men.” She goes on to describe what’s in the drug—a combination of sildenafil and tadalafil, the active ingredients in both Viagra and Cialis. Reclined on the ground, looking up at the camera, she says, “I stay in your system ready to go for 36 hours. I dissolve under your tongue. That’s for speed…If prescribed, I show up right at your door. Don’t worry, my packaging is very discreet.”
The ad is light and cheeky—something Fox told People she hopes will take some of the stigma out of ED medication. It’s a worthy mission: According to the National Institutes of Health, about 40% of men report ED by age 40, and about 70% of men report it by age 70. And while there are many, let’s say, innovations in boner technology, sildenafil and tadalafil are pretty tried and true methods of getting it up. It’s worth noting, however, that Ro’s pill is a compounded medication, meaning it’s not safety tested by the FDA.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, you can expect to see Fox in her super hero-like Sparks suit on television, streamers, and in a Times Square takeover. We know she’s advertising an ED medication, but the ad itself is pretty titillating. If it plays enough, you might not even need the pills she’s selling.
