Best Bets for Monday Night Football: Arizona Cardinals at Dallas Cowboys

We’ll cap off Week 9 of the NFL season with a Monday Night Football matchup featuring the Arizona Cardinals at Dallas Cowboys. Dating back to 2008, the Cardinals have surprisingly won seven of the last eight meetings over the Cowboys, including three straight since 2020.

It is certainly interesting to see the Cowboys as only 2.5-point favorites at home, considering the Cardinals have lost five straight after a 2-0 start. A lot of that has to do with QB Kyler Murray being out of the lineup, but the team has been preparing as if he’ll be in the lineup following the bye week. Meanwhile, the Cowboys are just looking for some momentum heading into their bye.

Below, I’ll give you my best three bets for the Cardinals-Cowboys MNF matchup, including plays on Kyler Murray, Marvin Harrison Jr, and Javonte Williams. Let’s see what the best options are:

What are the Best Bets for Monday Night Football: Arizona Cardinals at Dallas Cowboys?

Kyler Murray: Over 250.5 Passing Yards (-115)

I know, I know – the status of Murray is iffy, but the 2.5-point spread seems to indicate he’ll be full-systems-go tonight. I mean, has an NFL team lied to us on its injury report before? Errr, too soon?

Nevertheless, Murray was doing a fine job with his legs before getting hurt, so I doubt we’ll see him taking off out of the pocket much tonight. And that works perfectly against a Dallas defense that is allowing an NFL-high 273.1 passing yards per game. The Cowboys have allowed five of the last seven QBs to exceed their passing yards props, and the added opportunities certainly give Murray an optimistic outlook tonight.

2-Leg SGP: Marvin Harrison Jr: Over 53.5 Receiving Yards + Anytime TD (+260)

As I just mentioned, and you have probably seen week in and week out, the Cowboys’ secondary has been terrible. Dallas is allowing the second-most receiving yards per game to WRs (172.3) and the most air yards per game (123.9) to the position.

We’re probably looking at a huge night from Harrison, and he has exceeded the yardage mark in three of his last four games. In terms of the touchdowns, Dallas is allowing an NFL-high 1.9 TDs per game to the WR position, and they did allow 3 total TDs from WRs last week at Denver. In that same game, three different WRs had 40+ receiving yards.

Javonte Williams: Over 2.5 Receptions (-120)

The Cowboys haven’t been throwing to Williams as much in recent games, getting him only one catch in three of the last four. If the spread is telling us anything before kickoff, it’s that Dallas will be trailing, and that will lead to getting Williams involved in the passing game once again.

Believe it or not, the Cowboys used Williams in the passing game a ton early on. From Weeks 2-4, he had 14 catches, and all of those were high-scoring affairs. In Week 6, when Dallas was in a shootout with Carolina, Williams wound up with five receptions in that matchup.
