Six centuries ago, Geoffrey Chaucer began The Canterbury Tales with a lyric celebration of April's "sweet showers," and poets ever since have waxed lyrical over this vernal harbinger. But we doubt that such paeans have ever been penned about the spring flood of tax money that pours into the Federal Government's coffers during this soggy season. Among those least likely to praise April 15th--poetically or otherwise--are America's many million bachelors, who enjoy the dubious distinction...
